We’re finally retiring after our long careers in the book design and publishing biz (52 years for Glenna, and 31 for Fiona!). It’s been a wonderful adventure over the past 18 years coauthoring Book Design Made Simple, blogging, and self publishing, but we’re almost sold out of paperbacks and we’re ready to hang up our book design and publishing hats.

We’re closing in October 2026

We’re now winding down our self publishing business, selling out of our books and template, and will be shutting down this website and blog in October 2026. The great news for you is that our book design colleague Hadley Hendrix has graciously set up an archive of all our blog posts on her Substack so they’ll be available to you after our blog is shut down in October 2026:
